Carmen M. Walsh

Associate

Carmen Walsh is Viewpoint Consulting's associate principally responsible for editing the firm's reports and presentations; she also creates presentations and written materials for Viewpoint's clients. Carmen brings to her role a combination of healthcare experience and professional writing expertise.

In 1997, Carmen joined Advance Paradigm, where she spent several years in rebate contracting, working directly with all the major pharmaceutical companies. She played a pivotal role in improving and establishing the PBM's contracting processes through its various acquisitions, including that of PCS.

Carmen left her position as AdvancePCS' senior contract administrator when the company created a new clinical department — to track the progress and analyze the impact of pipeline pharmaceuticals, and to provide that information to clients. She acted as both a clinical writer, researching and writing product summaries and news items, and a product manager, creating business processes, writing marketing materials, and communicating with key managed care personnel.

In 2003, Carmen started her own firm, Walsh Writing. As a freelance writer, editor, and publication designer, she works with a variety of clients, including clinical research organizations, independent publishers, and marketing firms, as well as educational and nonprofit organizations.

Carmen graduated summa cum laude from Towson University with a master's degree in professional writing. She is an adjunct writing professor at Towson.
